Built by Frederick II of Swabia in the 13th century, the Castle dominates, with its massive octagonal structure, universally considered a brilliant example of medieval architecture. Next to the marvelous Gulf of Manfredonia, the beautiful town of Trani rises by the sea. Narrow alleys rich in charm chase each other throughout the historic center, which, with its rich medieval past, attracts thousands of tourists every year.
Right on the waterfront, in front of the marina, stands the beautiful Cathedral of Trani, another magnificent example of Apulian Romanesque architecture.
